  1. In biology, a regular relationship between a
  2. given feature (for example, the size of an
  3. organ) and the size of the body as a whole,
  4. when this relationship is not a simple
  5. proportion of body size. Thus, an organ may
  6. increase in size proportionately faster, or
  7. slower, than body size does.
